Australian Swimmer Kyle Chalmers won 100 meters free style event in Olympics 2016 in 47.80 seconds.
Belgium’s Pieter Timmers won silver medal in Rio Olympics 100 meters freestyle swimming events.
Pieter Timmers took 47.80 seconds.
Nathan Adrian of USA got bronze medals in 100 meters freestyle in 47.85 .
Kyle Chamers gradualy improved his performance in 100 meters freesyle event.In heats he was on top with 47.90 seconds ,in semi final he sustained his position with 47.88 seconds.In Final Kyle Chamers improved his performance and slash 0.30 seconds .From 47.88 to 47.58 he won the event convincingly.
The 18 years old Kyle Chamers surprised every one in and outside the pool.In all races he came from the behind and finish well ahead from the leadersof race.
Kyle Chamers is first Australian who has won 100 meters free style since Mexico Olympics 1968.
It was Australia third gold medal in Swimming in Rio following Mack Horton and Women 4 x 100 freestyle relay.
In trial for Olympics Chamers was second behind McEvoy in his home town Adelaide.Charmers is the fourth Australian to win 100 meters free style in Olympics.The others three are Wendon, JohnHenricks(1956) and John Devitt(1960).
McEvoy World silver medalist was favorite for this race.McEvoy has fastest time of the year 47.04 from the Olympic trials.
