Australia vs South Africa 5th ODI  hd Highlights 2014 | Match Report

Australia will start ICCCWC2015 year ranked as the game’s top ODI team and with the likes of Steve Smith, Aaron Finch and Shane Watson all running into ominous form, following a fourth victory in five matches over a sloppy South Africa at the SCG.

So that’s the end of  one sided series Aus vs SA with Aus finidhed 4-1. South Africa walk away with some info for the ICCCWC2015. Australia will be content the series trophy. Thanks for your company and your comments. It’s time I get up and run away from the keyboard and figure out how what happened in the last few minutes happened.

South Afiva won the toss and South Africa reached a competitive 6 for 280 after Quinton de Kock (107) reached his first ton of the tour, but as rain hit early in Australia’s innings the target was reduced to 275 off 48 overs.
Australia looked to be doing it comfortably after Finch (76) and Watson (82) set the platform, before man of the series Smith continued his tremendous form with 67.
But the hosts conspired to lose 5 for 21 off 30 balls to create a grandstand finish, before James Faulkner (6*) again showed nerves of steel to sweep the impressive Robin Peterson (4 for 32) to the rope to win it.
Australia’s win sends them to the top of the ICC ODI world rankings, and seals a 4-1 series win over South Africa.

Australia vs South Africa 5th ODI hd Highlights 2014 | ICC ODI RANKING

In the Aus vs SA 5th ODI preview we wrote that it will be a battle of No. 1 position for Australia nothing else than this. Hence they opted to play the match with full squad. win the match and got the 117 points in the ICC ODI Ranking table with 48 matches. India has same points but it had played 68 matches. Hence Australia got the No. ICC ODI RANKING to enter into  ICCCWC2015.
Samroy commented on cricinfo live that “Till this innings I had doubts over Aaron Finch. But I think after this innings, Finch looks good not only as a ODI opener but may be he should be given a chance against India in the test matches. He has all the shots in the book and has improved in his judgement about the ones to play, ones to defend and ones to leave. Rogers is 37 and Australia will gain very little if he scores 400+ runs against India. He can play in England however as I guess Finch might struggle in England against the moving ball. India is a team which gives up very quickly overseas and there is a very good chance by third and fourth test Indian teams morale will be down and they will be bowling pies. He (Finch) cannot ask for a better introduction than that. This coming from a cricket fan born and living in India.”
Another dangerous face in today and previous matches was the lack of crows came to see the matches. This is mismanagement of Cricket Australia or something else. Very beauitful commnets passed by a view on cricinfo live score are as under;
“3 men and a dog watching this match at the SCG. Same at MCG the other day. What has happened to Australian crowds ? There was a article on Cricinfo last week which made worrying reading about lack of crowds and participation in cricket. Many things to blame IMHO. But the underlying problem is TOO MUCH INTERNATIONAL CRICKET by too few countries. The goose that laid the golden egg for ICC has finally run out of eggs. As most thinking people knew it would. Outside India ( and they only seem interested in T20 hit and giggle stuff), crowds have pretty much disappeared. Exception in UK is Ashes. Everythingr else including county cricket is dying on its feet. I fear for the game. ”
