First USA vs Ireland ODI cancelled after match official tests positive for Covid-19
The first ODI between USA and Ireland has been Cancelled following a positive Covid-19 test among the crew of the match official.
only one official has been infected, the other three in the group have been deemed “close contacts” of the positive case, and have been rendered unavailable.
This has left all 4 of the umpires unavailable for the first ODI with the 3 negative tested umpires being deemed as close contacts to the 1 positive case.
However, second and third ODI between USA and Ireland will be played as per schedule.
2nd ODI will be played on December 28 and third ODI on 31 December. All matches will be played at Lauderhill.
USA Cricket said that all ticket-holders for the first ODI “may re-use their tickets for any additional match in the series” or, if the ticket-holders can’t attend another match, the “full fee will be refunded within 7 working days”
Earlier in T20 Series USA won first T20I and Ireland Won 2nd T20I.
USA won first T20I against a full member of ICC and Test playing nation. It is first instance in USA cricket history.
