Key players for Scotland’s T20 World Cup squad include Ailsa Lister and Katherine Fraser. Former Scotland head coach Mark Coles had identified Fraser as a player with potential when he took charge. Along with Fraser, Lister and Olivia Bell are the other players with international experience. Fraser was one of the top wicket-takers for Scotland and Lister was third on the list of run-scorers for Scotland during the Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier last September where they finished in sixth place. Scotland lost to the USA in an unofficial warm-up match before the Under-19 World Cup, but they were able to defeat them in their first official warm-up game.

Key players for the USA’s T20 World Cup squad include Geetika Kodali and Isani Vaghela. Eleven out of the 15 players in the squad have international cricket experience and many of them were part of the team that finished eighth in the Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier in September 2022. Kodali, Vaghela and Snigdha Paul also have experience playing against notable names in T20 leagues. The trio participated in the inaugural Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) last September, and Kodali also played in the Fairbreak Invitational T20 tournament last May.
