The 27 years old Rahelah Asemani left Iran 2012 and settled in Belgium .Aesmani works for postal service in Begium.She was granted Belgium citizenship in April 2016.Rahela earlier won silver medal for Iran in 2010 Asian Games in the women 62kg division . She lost to Noh Eun-sil in the final.

At the 2016 European Taekwondo Championships held in Montreux, Switzerland, Asemani represented Belgium and won a bronze medal. . During the European Taekwondo Championships 2016 both Asemani and Jones, along with British-born Moldovan Aaron Cook, were named by the World Taekwondo Federation as the sport’s first three humanitarian ambassadors.Aesmani competed under the flag of the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) in Istanbul, where she defeated Finland’s Suvi Mikkonen in the final of the -57kg category and won gold medal.
