Rio Olympics Results:Sharon van Rounwendaal of Netherland won Women’s 10km Marathon Swimming

Netherland swimmer Sharon van Rounwendaal won Women’s 10km Marathon in Rio Olympics 2016.Rounwendaal won gold medal in Women’s 10km marathon.Rounwendaal took 1:56:32 to cover the distance of 10km.Italy’s swimmer Rachele Bruni won silver medal in 10km marathon swimming .Bruni took 1:56:32 to complete the race.She was second behind gold medalist Rouwendaal.
Poliana Okimoto of Brazil was third in women’s 10km marathon swimming. Okimoto took 1:56:51 and won bronze medal .
Xin Xin of China took fourth position in Women’s 10km marathon swimming.

Rounwendaal is only elite distance swimmer .She competes in 100 to 10Km Marathon swimming. Rounwendaal took part in 400m freestyle in Rio Olympics and was 19th in this event.She took part in London Olympics but could not win any medals.Van Rouwendaal was voted 2014 European Open water swimmer of the year by European swimming federation.
