Brazil’s pole vaulter 22 years old Thiago Braz de Silva set new Olympics record and won gold medal in Pole Vault.Thiago cleared height of 6.03 in final of pole vault. da Silava beat former Olympic Champion and World Record holder French pole vaulter Renauld Lauvillenie . Lavillenie failed to defend his title in Rio Olympics Games. LAvillenie won Olympic gold medal in pole Vault in 2012 at London Olympics.
Da Silva failed in his first attempt to cross 6.03 mark but in second attempt de Silva succeded in crossing the heights. Lauvillenie tries to cross 6.18 meters height but failed.
Da Silva won Gold medal in Rio Olympic pole vault event. Lauvillenie secured silver medal and American pole vaulter Sam Kendricks got bronze medal.
Da Silva added 11 centimeters to his previous best. Da Silva became fourth Brazilian to win track and field gold at Olympics. Da Silva gold medal is second gold medal for Brazil in this game.
Da Silva progress from 2010 to 2016 is very rapid.In 2010 his persona best was 5.10 meters,2011(5.31),2012(5.55).
From 2013 to 2016 De Silva performance was fantastic. In 2013 he crossed 5.83 ,2014(5.73),in 2015 De Siva talent reached such height that many people started to think about him.In 2015 he crossed th height of 5.92 . In Rio Olympics 2016 Da Silva set new Olympic record and won gold medal in pole vault.He set the limit to 6.03 meters.De Silva is still 22 years old ,he has a lot to offer to sports.In Coming years his eyes will be on pole Vault World record set by French Pole Vaulter Renauld Lavillenie. DaSilva is only athelete who crosed 6 meters height in 2016 in pole vault.
At the age of 18 years Da Silva won 14th IAAF World Junior Championship title in pole vault in 2012.In 2013 he became South American Champion in pole vault.
Now at age of 22 he set Olympics record with mark of 6.03 meters.
