The MI Cape Town franchise, owned by Reliance Industries Ltd, is set to compete in the upcoming SA20 league, playing at the picturesque Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town. The team boasts a strong lineup, featuring South Africa’s Proteas fast bowler Kagiso Rabada and Afghanistan’ spin wizard Rashid Khan. Additionally, the MI Cape Town squad includes England’s powerful batter Liam Livingstone, swing bowler Sam Curran, and South Africa’s rising star Dewald Brevis, known as Baby AB. The Proteas ace was one of the early signings by the Sun TV Network-owned franchise, who recognize his value at the top of the order. Joining him on the team is the talented bowler Ottniel Baartman, who has a reputation for closing out innings with poise and versatility. These two players were among the first to be signed by the Sunrisers Eastern Cape, and the fans can’t wait to see who else will be joining the #SA20 league in 2023. The team will be led by the experienced and respected international cricketer Faf du Plessis, who has previously achieved success with the Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League. The franchise has also brought on board experienced coach Stephen Fleming to build on the team’s existing foundations. Fleming, Du Plessis and the owners, Chennai Super Kings Limited, hope to replicate the winning formula from Chennai to Gauteng. One of the players to watch for is young gun Gerald Coetzee. The Super Kings are aiming to blend a wealth of experience with talented local players to make the Bullring stadium a challenging venue for all teams in the #SA20.

He’s joined by local all-rounder Migael Pretorius, who has a promising future. Nortje was the team’s top signing prior to the auction and already has experience in T20 competitions, having played for the Jamaica Tallawahs.
